Cycling NZ26 - Day 26 - C’est la vie!
Well about 4 of you said take a day off. So I have. I’ve had 4 days off! Well I had to let the bad weather pass as once you are out of this town you are remote again. And I’ve learnt a few things whilst here. One of which is to try not to be an idiot all of your life.
Sit-rep on me. As far as I can tell all symptoms have now gone. Nothing on my chest. No blockages up me dose. Joints and legs generally feel strong and good. Bugger. And I’m about to come home 🤬. I feel cheated. I want a second chance! Whats that, Wayne? Oh yeah, I’ve tried that one already, huh. C’est la vie!
But instead of being silly writing silly stuff today I’ve done a bit more video editing. So here you go. My first 3 days on south island following the pacific coast road.
Sadly theres really only 2 more days of cycling. 40 miles in big hills to Cheviot tomorrow and then one monster 90 mile flat ish (hah!) day into Christchurch. Then the 4 day wait before the return flights begin.
Before I came here this cycling malarkey perhaps felt like a bucket list item.
Well in fact it is not. Going by the number of folk out here of older age that I have met doing similar stuff - the resounding message is…
Get on with living and enjoy yourself, Wayne.
There’s a lot more to come 😊🙏
Ciao for now
