Cycling NZ26 - Day 4 - Sharing a bit of happiness 😊

It’s 0933 Zulu and I think I’m outrunning the buggers.

Today is a rest day. I had always planned to have rest days on this trip and whilst this one feels a bit of a luxury so early on in fact it isn’t. A winter in the UK with meagre riding opportunities unless you really really like to be bloody cold and wet followed by 3 punchy hot days here in New Zealand, well it's the best idea you've had in a long long time, Wayne.

My little pinky has gone numb.  No, no I’m not talking about balloon dog here although you should see the sorry state he’s in the poor fella! Nah, I still have some fettling to do with my handlebars to take the pressure off of some anterior palm nerve.  However the squeak is now fettled.  Ogre, the ugly beast of a thing just needed her rear calliper fettling so I took her to the nearest gynaecologist, a farmers one of course, that had the right size cow spanners - and shes all good now

However, the heat and sweat over the last few days has left Hairy Melon with a bit of a non love bite which is making me twitch a bit in the saddle.

At the sanctuary I chatted with the on duty receptionist.  A big powerfully built Kiwi lass with enough chest to satisfy even the hungriest of babies.  I’m up here SIR! she says as I talk to her boobies about my cycling adventures.  How she one day also might try really got my attention.

Do you remember as a kid I say how mummy would always say come here let me kiss it better if you ever fell and hurt your pinky or some other part of your anatomy?  Oh yes says the tall wire haired New Zealand Goddess with that smile on her face.  With a big pet lip I look up deep into her iridescent blue eyes and tell her about the little problem that has developed in my perennials flashing hopefully my sad cow eyes deep into hers..

THWACK!!

My God!  She must have Scottish roots sporting a set of knuckles like those.  I suspect she knew where that hopeful little conversation was going...

I pick my dose up off of the floor, apologise pofusele if anifin I might have said was taken out of context and wish her a api da tada which is quite difficult to say without your nostrils in place.

Ok, Ok thats enough silliness for today’s blog - more tomorrow.  However…

Over the last few hours I've pulled together a video montage of my journey over the last 3 days.  It’s amazing what you can do on an iPhone innit?

Today is fettle the bike and ma bits including my legs which after only 3 days are starting to feel super powerful - and need to be in preparation for the 60 miler tomorrow into the hills towards the Timber Trail

Time now to take Hairy Melon and Mr Softee for a bath and make the sulphurous hot pools stinkier than they ever should be..

Ciao for now
