NC500 - Video: Tongue to Inverness

I’m sad.  Because it is now all done.

Whilst putting this one together I found some video with me chatting to, no telling, London Alan (sorry Alan) that this journey is just the start of something and that anyone and everyone should try to do similar things in their lives.  500 miles in the hills is no walk in the park and whilst I do understand that there are many people out there that might not be able to do this for any of a 1000 reasons, similarly there are many who should, could and perhaps would do and have done similar if not more.  I do spout on a bit though.

I have truly enjoyed putting this sequence of video’s together along with writing the blog.  There’s probably many bits in the video's that you might have found a little 'long winded' if not boring.  Sorry.  For me watching these videos in their entirety again (and again) trigger now faded memories into life which helps to recall this journey much more than any photo would allow.  I sit in front of the TV or laptop, open my eyes and ears and let it all flood in.

The video's contain some of the best bits along with some of the worst bits.  I have added some favourite music to compliment the videos and for me the combination of the two can be quite stirring.  If you have read some of the blog and watched some of the videos so far you will know that the emotions on the ride at times were very strong.  So is it unsurprising that sometimes I might have tears in my eyes when I watch some of it?   I re-live the mountains and hear the sounds.  I again feel the wind in my face and the rain and the sun on my back.  It's why I write and produce the video's.  I feel it all again.

I’m sure that London Alan does too.

Simply the urge now is to do more and more and more.  A biking addiction perhaps?  Well, yes, but only at fat man speeds and distances and only to the point where I hit a hard climb or run into the hard rain.  For sure that’s the Cure (and the first track in this video).

Here's the final video.

Next year will be a cycle ride to Vienna.  I may write about that too :-)

Thanks for riding with us, friends.
